For the past two years, Innovate Public Schools has been working with a group of parents in Redwood City to bring new high-quality school options to the community. Parents Enrique Esparza and Maritza Leal were recently honored as the California Charter School Association’s Volunteers of the Year for their hard work.

Innovate parent leaders engaged more than 1,000 parents over the course of the campaign and ultimately won the approval of two new charter schools – one KIPP, one Rocketship – that are opening in fall 2015.
