Before joining the Innovate team, Marissa Castañeda worked with Conservation Corps North Bay, a job development program for youth in Sonoma and Marin County. She also previously worked on efforts to address the achievement gap in her hometown of Napa and brought support to undocumented young people through Educators for Fair Consideration, the Napa Valley Dream Team, and on the Harvard University campus.
Marissa holds a BA in Sociology and Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and an MA in Theological Studies from Harvard University.
Marissa joined Innovate Public Schools in May of 2018 and is the community organizer in Redwood City. She is working to empower parents and community members in Redwood City for a better education for their children.
