So many studies have shown the positive benefits of education that we don’t need to cite statistics to convince people it’s an important investment — not only for our own kids, but for our entire society. For instance, people with more education generally have higher lifetime earnings. Did you know they also tend to have better health? NPR recently did a great round-up of research studies that link
better education to better health.
One finding: Getting a high school diploma is as good for your health as quitting smoking.
That means improving education could literally mean saving lives. I can’t think of a clearer call to action.
