Yesterday, dozens of parent leaders gathered in front of San Francisco City Hall for a press conference to let the Mayor, Board of Supervisors, Superintendent, and School Board know that their kids deserve better.

Surrounded by supporters, parents announced the release of Innovate’s report “A Dream Deferred: How San Francisco schools leave behind the most vulnerable students.” They shared their personal experiences dealing with the school system and facts about SFUSD’s poor performance.

We are grateful to State Senator Scott Wiener for coming out to show his support, and for being the first to sign our pledge to champion education policies that put kids first. We also want to thank President Amos C. Brown of the San Francisco NAACP for endorsing our efforts, and Pastor Arelious Walker for his leadership.
