In April 2026, Innovate parents came together to find solutions that advance high-quality education in schools across California! Here are a few examples of the critical work our parents are doing:
In Los Angeles, parent leaders and Innovate’s L.A. team led a research meeting and focus group with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Office Office of Family Engagement to begin the process of developing a Family Guide to LAUSD’s Strategic Plan. Also in L.A., parent leaders met to gain advocacy and leadership skills (pictured).
Innovate parents came together in Westlake-Pico Union to take part in Power Mapping training. These exercises help parents and families navigate the power structures of our schools systems, so they can advocate for change effectively.
The Innovate team met with parent leaders in the Redwood City school district to dive deep on different aspects of high-quality education and opportunities for advocacy.
