The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is currently developing its new Strategic Plan to outline the goals, strategies, and measures the district intends to implement to drive student success in 2026-2030. Innovate is proud to once again partner with LAUSD to develop the Family Guide to the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan.
The Family Guide is an actionable tool that families can use to understand the goals in the plan, and to engage in conversations with schools and district leaders about how the plan is being implemented. Innovate engages parent leaders, families, and caregivers to be active partners with LAUSD so that every family has the opportunity to fully understand the school district’s planning and actions. Innovate previously partnered with LAUSD to develop the Family Guide for the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.
Parent engagement is key to the process of developing the new Family Guide. Innovate is co-facilitating a series of focus groups with LAUSD’s Office of Family Engagement and families across the district to share feedback on design, accessibility and over usefulness of the Family Guide. These focus groups also provide an opportunity to share the contents of the Strategic Plan with families.
Innovate led a focus group on April 10 with a group of Innovate parent leaders who were deeply involved in the development and rollout of the 2022-2026 Family Guide. Over the coming weeks, Innovate will continue to have conversations with families across all of LAUSD’s regions to gather input and feedback on the Strategic Plan and the Family Guide. These families will provide valuable input to ensure the Family Guide remains an effective and actionable tool for LAUSD’s families.
