On August 28th, 2017, Redwood City parent leaders and families gathered outside City Hall to fight for their children’s future. After winning a long battle to create their school, Rocketship Redwood City Prep, they want a school facility in the community where most of the students live. The Planning Commission approved their facility, but some local business owners appealed the decision to City Council.
Families gathered for a community vigil to show why this vote matters to them. In standing together peacefully and powerfully outside City Hall, they were able to show that there is strong community support for this facility for Rocketship Redwood City Prep.
