In January 2022, over 135 professionals from local education agencies (LEAs) throughout California joined us to learn how to use state funding for learning programs outside of regular school hours.
Since 2018, parent leaders have pushed LAUSD to funnel resources to Black students. Now, Black parents, community members, and educators are working with board member Tanya Ortiz Franklin to devise a plan on African American Student Academic Excellence in LAUSD.
On December 15, 2021, we sent Governor Gavin Newsom a letter to let him know that Innovate parent leaders want to ensure that these funds fulfill their promise of a full academic, social, and emotional recovery.
