California Statewide Campaign

Innovate organizes thousands of parents throughout California. In 2022, 14 parent leaders were nominated to serve on Innovate’s CA Statewide Parent Leader Board. The CA Statewide Parent Leader Board is a body of volunteer parent leaders representing thousands of Black and Latino parents, parents of students with learning differences, and parents of English learners. Parent leaders live and work in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Redwood City, and East Palo Alto.

Building Power For Education Equity

Since 2020, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Redwood City, and East Palo Alto parent leaders organized to create a strong foundation for Innovate’s 2022-23 statewide campaign. On March 15th, Innovate parent leaders, staff and partners participated in Innovate’s first legislative advocacy day. Parents met with California legislators and staff leaders to uplift three statewide legislative priorities: Black student achievement, IEP language accessibility and high-quality tutoring.
