Bio

Emma Hiza is a Senior Program Officer on the Education team at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. Prior to joining CZI she founded and led a nonprofit that started study abroad public high schools, launching in Oakland and expanding to Indianapolis. She began her career as a teacher in Philadelphia, has worked with schools and out of school time programs in Baltimore and DC, and has worked in global health and youth development internationally with the McKinsey Social Initiative and Partners In Health. She lives in Oakland with her husband and their daughter.
