Sofia Lozano Pallares is a Community Organizer at Innovate Public Schools. She spends most of her day in homes, coffee shops and parks talking to parents about their hopes, wishes and concerns for Public Education in San Jose and in California. As an organizer, she energizes, asks difficult questions, and inspires groups of parent leaders to advocate for their children’s right to a world’s class public education.
Sofia brings a decade of work doing leadership development and mediation through the lens of conflict resolution and restorative justice. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Philosophy from Notre Dame de Namur University and a M.A. in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union and Santa Clara University. In her leisure time, Sofia likes to sing, dance and spend time with her family and friends.
What I love most about our work is …
…that we are empowering parents to revitalize democracy and civic society.
